Participants in this four week on line learning course will examine the new learning environment for teachers and students made possible through the effective use of Google Apps. This course will focus on many of the free applications from Google that support teaching and learning. Some of the Google applications that will be discussed during the two-day course are: Google Docs, Spreadsheets, Forms, and Presentations, Google Calendar, iGoogle landing pages, Google Sites, and Picasa.
Participants will discuss best practice examples and methodologies for assessing the impact of these tools on instruction. They will also identify and discuss ways that Google Tools can be effectively used in their classrooms. Participants will use their new knowledge to develop a lesson plan or project incorporating Google Tools into their classroom curriculum or for professional development activities. This lesson plan/project will include a plan for both formative and summative assessments and will be due one week following the end of the class.
